Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry works in conjunction with general dentistry to ensure the overall health and beauty of your mouth.Â
The appearance of your teeth should reflect your excellent dental health. Otherwise, neither you nor the world will know that your teeth are healthy and strong. An aesthetically pleasing mouth heightens your self-esteem, brightens your face, and betters your presentation in both social and professional interactions.

Periodontics
We are thrilled to announce the addition of Dr. Catherine (Jenny) King, D.M.D., M.S., a distinguished specialist in Periodontics, to our dedicated practice. Dr. King focuses exclusively on the highly specialized areas of dental implant placement and the advanced treatment of gum diseases.
Understanding Periodontics and Dr. King's Expertise
Periodontics is one of the nine recognized dental specialties. It is the branch of dentistry dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases affecting the tissues that support the teeth—the periodontium. This includes the gums (gingiva), the bone supporting the teeth (alveolar bone), and the ligaments that hold them in place. A Periodontist, like Dr. King, is a gum and bone specialist who has completed three additional years of rigorous post-doctoral training beyond general dental school.
Dr. King's specialized practice focuses on critical procedures such as:
-
Treating Periodontitis: This is an advanced form of gum disease—a chronic bacterial infection that, if left untreated, destroys the bone and soft tissues, leading to tooth loss. Dr. King offers both surgical and non-surgical therapies to manage and reverse the effects of this destructive disease.
-
Dental Implant Surgery: As experts in the bone and soft tissue structures of the mouth, Periodontists are ideally suited to perform implant dentistry. Dr. King places dental implants, which are titanium posts surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum tissue to serve as replacement tooth roots for missing teeth.
-
Bone Grafting and Soft Tissue Grafting: To prepare a site for a dental implant or to restore tissue lost due to disease, Dr. King performs advanced surgical procedures.
-
Bone Grafting involves regenerating lost jawbone, which is crucial for securely anchoring dental implants.
-
Soft Tissue Grafting is used to treat gum recession, a condition in which the gum tissue pulls away from the tooth, exposing the root and increasing sensitivity and risk of decay.

Dr. King's Commitment to Advanced Care and Research
Our patients greatly value Dr. King’s clinical expertise, coupled with her compassionate approach to periodontics and implant dentistry. She is deeply passionate about improving oral health and restoring smiles.

Dr. King has a particular research interest in bone regeneration for implant therapy. Specifically, her published research focuses on Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR). GBR is an advanced surgical technique that uses a barrier membrane, often in conjunction with bone graft materials, to create and maintain a space where new, natural bone can predictably grow. This procedure is vital for patients who have experienced bone loss and need a stable foundation for their dental implants.

She also specializes in esthetic periodontal surgery, using gentle precision and artistry to help patients enhance their smiles by correcting issues like uneven gum lines or excess gum tissue.
We are delighted to offer the Orlando College Park area Dr. King's specialized knowledge and personalized, expert care in Periodontics, Dental Implants, and Bone Regeneration.
